MIAMI, April 6 (Reuters) - Brazil's President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva will announce in the next few days a plan to stimulate the country's industry, including specific measures to support the exporting sector, Planning Minister Paulo Bernardo said on Sunday.
Speaking to reporters in Miami on the sidelines of the Inter-American Development Bank meeting, Bernardo said the plan was ready at the end of 2007, but had to be delayed after the government lost an important source of revenue, the tax over financial transactions, known as CPMF.
"The plan was recalibrated, Ministers Guido Mantega (Finance) and Miguel Jorge (Trade and Industry) made a series of calculations, and now it will be taken to the president who will announce it in the next few days," Bernardo said. (Reporting by Walter Brandimarte, editing by Maureen Bavdek)
