April 30 (Bloomberg) -- Global sugar production will surpass consumption by 10 million metric tons in 2008, which is likely to depress prices, Sucden said.
Output will reach 170 million tons this year, led by output in Brazil, India and Thailand, Paris-based Sucden said in an e- mailed report today. Stocks-to-use ratio could reach a record 55 percent by September, up 5 percentage points from a year earlier, Sucden said.
