* Petrobras says Brazil oil output rises in July
* Production outside Brazil dips slightly last month (Adds details and context)
SAO PAULO, Aug 18 (Reuters) - Brazil's state-run oil company Petrobras (PETR4.SA) (PBR.N) said on Tuesday domestic oil production rose in July.
The company's oil production in Brazil rose to 1.938 million barrels a day in July compared to 1.927 million barrels per day in June. Production was up 3.8 percent, when compared to July 2008, the company said in a statement.
The additional 11,000 bpd in July was due to increased production in certain wells and as production returned to platforms that had been taken off-line, Petrobras said.
Production outside Brazil dipped to 142,500 bpd in July from 146,300 bpd in June, taking total production in July, including natural gas liquids, to 2.08 million bpd.
Petrobras' second-quarter net profit fell 20 percent from a year earlier on lower global oil prices and higher finance costs, the company said on Friday. (Reporting by Cesar Bianconi; Writitng by Ana Nicolaci da Costa; Editing by Christian Wiessner)
